What is this matting? Matting fabric for carpets
Increasingly, matting can be seen in modern apartment interiors, but not everyone is familiar with the features of the coating. The popularity of the mat (as it is also called :) is associated not only with its impeccable visual appearance, but also with the characteristics that it possesses by default. It is difficult to imagine a room in which there is no place for this fabric.
A matting carpet can transform a child's room, bedroom or living room. It is tactilely pleasant, lightweight, elegant and graceful material that is easy to care for. It can be presented either near the bed or under the dining table. Matting is especially indispensable in corridors, on balconies, and also in the country house.
Advantages of matting for carpets
The history of matting fabric began a very long time ago. At first it was used to make bedding, shoulder bags and sacks. This dates back to the times when the material was created exclusively from cattail. Modern technologies have not made the mat less natural. Now it is produced for carpets made of wool , silk, linen and cotton using the method of triple and double weaving of threads.
Matting fabric is very similar to rough burlap, but at the same time it has a large number of advantages that extend to various areas of application:
- products do not lose their shape and are not subject to rapid wear;
- triple weave makes the fabric wear-resistant, durable and practical;
- The low-maintenance material does not need to be ironed, just wash and let dry;
- environmentally friendly components do not lead to allergic reactions and do not retain unpleasant odors in the fibers;
- the fabric is breathable;
- affordable price expands the range of implemented ideas;
- ease of coloring makes the mat in demand among designers creating stylish stage looks.
Matting is actively used in the field of furniture upholstery. It is used to make curtains and trendy accessories that look no less impressive than designer clothes.
Caring for a matting carpet
One of the advantages of matting is its ease of care. A carpet made from acrylic or natural materials (used for matting) is easy to care for. Nevertheless, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the basic rules that you should not forget about when interacting with the coating:
- use a soft bristle brush and a vacuum cleaner;
- to remove stubborn dirt, moisten a piece of fabric and wipe it with a sponge previously soaked in a warm soapy solution;
- Do not use aggressive household chemicals, including bleaches containing chlorine, otherwise the color of the canvas may change and the factory appearance cannot be restored;
- Modern antistatic agents and products with a water-repellent effect will protect the matting from dirt, namely from its deep penetration into the threads.
Matting is an original and practical fabric made from natural raw materials. It is breathable and practical regardless of the chosen method of application. Designers have excellent imagination, and from mats they can create objects that can be used both at fashion weeks and in every home.
