What to do with old carpet from the wall?

Many people sooner or later are faced with renovations in their apartment, and as I remember, it was once very fashionable to hang carpets on the wall. We can say that the fashion of carpets on the wall ended not so long ago. Just 10-12 years ago they were boldly hung on the walls in all rooms. But today, carpets on the walls are no longer relevant. Moreover, a completely bare wall without paintings or carpets is now popular.

What to do with an old wool carpet with history. With history, because we all remember Soviet times, when we signed up for carpets and sometimes waited up to six months. And this despite the fact that they were buying a pig in a poke. Whatever design and color came, that’s what we took. Some themselves traveled throughout the Soviet Union to buy carpets. Carpets were hung from wall to wall, moved from apartment to apartment. And in general, the carpet was the most important piece of furniture in the room. Everything else was matched under the carpet, wallpaper, chandeliers, and furniture. So it’s really a shame to throw away such a relic. Moreover, now carpets made from natural fibers are highly valued. Mostly such carpets were wool. Therefore, it is not wise to throw woolen carpets in the trash.

What can be done in this case? The first thing is to throw the rug on the floor. Carpets on the floor have always been and remain in fashion. If a woolen carpet is moth-eaten in some places, as a rule such gaps in the carpet go along the edges of the carpet. It can be cut symmetrically around the perimeter, and be sure to overlock it (which can be done in our store). Another option is to cut the carpet into several rugs. As an example: When cutting a carpet, you must take into account the pattern on the carpet. As they say, measure a hundred times, cut once. You need to take into account that fragment of the pattern so that a uniform pattern remains as visible as possible. And where it’s cut off, let it go either under the sofa or up to the closet. The overlay of the rugs can be made in any way you like, so cut it according to the location as needed. As you can see, a very good rug went into the restroom. Well, what’s left can be thrown either onto the balcony or the rug at the entrance:

So everything is in your hands, and at this point it’s better to slowly trim the carpets in place and only then take them to the overlocker. Because you cut exactly as needed, the overlocker does not add or subtract size from your rug.
